Alice Buttrick

Alice’s practice focuses on litigation. Prior to joining Shapiro Arato Bach, Alice worked at a nonprofit devoted to economic justice litigation and as an associate at a premier class action firm. Alice also clerked for a federal district judge and a federal appellate judge.

Representative Matters

• Defending macroeconomic research start up and its founders in trade secret dispute.
• Briefed, argued, and won complete dismissal of fraud claims against family members of a high-ranking foreign political official.
• Briefed and argued three related civil rights appeals on behalf of a formerly incarcerated person in the Second Circuit, successfully obtaining a partial vacatur and reinstatement of our client’s case.
• Defended creator of television show in a copyright dispute, resulting in summary judgment dismissing all claims.
• Represented boutique law firm in multi-faceted partnership dispute.
• Represented entrepreneur in a Second Circuit appeal of criminal wire and securities fraud conviction.
• Represented CEO of a credit-card processing company in a Second Circuit appeal of criminal wire fraud conviction.
