Shapiro Arato Bach Wins Acquittal on All Counts for Client in Criminal Jury Trial
On September 24, 2019, Shapiro Arato Bach LLP won a verdict of not guilty on all counts for our client in a five-defendant criminal jury trial in Kings County Supreme Court (People v. Shyknevsky et al., Indictment No. 2160/2017).
The jury rejected allegations by the New York State Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit that our client was involved in a scheme to defraud Medicaid, acquitting him of all charged offenses: healthcare fraud in the third degree, grand larceny in the fourth degree, the unauthorized practice of dentistry, and falsifying business records in the first degree. The case was tried by associate Fabien Thayamballi.
